由阿拉斯塔尔·西姆 乔治·科尔 特里-托马斯 吉尔·亚当斯等主演的《绿人》是一部喜剧片。 Work has been going with a bang for freelance assassin Hawkins but a job in England just after the war is a different matter. His apparently easy target, a pompous government minister, is off for some hanky-panky at the Green Man on the south coast, where Hawkins is planning to retire him for good. But before he can get on with this the hit-man has a procession of unwanted visitors at home to dispose of - one way or another.

果然是西德尼·吉里亚特的剧本，与他二十年前的贵妇失踪几乎同样套路（也与56擒凶记问世在同年），只是丢失了希区才能创造出的悬疑构思与浪漫节奏，这两样东西也都存在但几乎退为点缀，影片更突出英伦特色的荒诞闹剧和婚性冷讽。吉里亚特十年前还自导过一部也带“绿色”的电影，也是由阿拉斯塔尔西姆领衔主演，不过他演的是……侦探。
